It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mike, who peacefully departed on Saturday, July 20, 2024, in Cleburne. He was born on April 28, 1939, in Cleburne to W.T. and Susie Pearl (Hurt) Lain. Mike found lifelong companionship with Lynda Jeanne Parker, whom he married on January 20, 1985, in Cleburne. Together they shared 36 years of love and devotion until her passing in 2021. Mike was a respected and dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cleburne. He served his nation with honor in the United States Army, with the 101st Airborne Division-“The Screaming Eagles”. His dedication extended into his professional life, where he diligently worked as a trainman for Santa Fe Railroad for over three decades. Mike loved to travel and was a devoted family man known for his love of culinary skills at family gatherings. He was cherished by his loved ones for his zest for life and his passion for spending time outdoors. A source of great joy in his life was the precious moments he shared with his grandson. May his legacy endure through the lives he touched during his time with us.

Survivors include his daughter, Tonja Barrett and spouse, Chris Humphries; grandson, Michael “BJ” Barrett and wife, Alyssa; great-granddaughters, Lilliana and Sophia Barrett; and siblings, Juanita Evans, Anita Irwin, and Tommy Lain; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
