George Michael Lloyd Jr. (Mike) of Lakeland, FL died at home while surrounded by family on June 14th at age 96.
Born on February 26, 1929, in Charleston, SC, he moved to Lakeland in 1965. He is predeceased by his wife Louise in 2009, with whom he founded Lloyds of Lakeland Antiques in Downtown Lakeland. Mike finished a distinguished career in the phosphate industry at the Florida Institute of Phosphate Research with his retirement in 2012.
He is survived by his sister Betty Kastner of Charleston, daughters Barbara, Eva (James Bond), and Becky (Steve DeBats), 4 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Heath Funeral Chapel on June 30th, 2025 at 10 am, followed by funeral service at 11 am. Memorial donations may be sent to Lighthouse Ministries.
