Mike Maynard
Tupelo – Dennis Michael “Mike” Maynard, son of the late Alva P “Dep” Maynard and Addie Grace Maynard of Tupelo, Mississippi, peacefully passed Monday, November 24, 2025, at Sanctuary Hospice House.
He was a great Daddy to his girls and Poppy to his grandchildren. He was an avid Ole Miss fan and enjoyed his many friends.
Mike retired in 2025 from Weatherall’s Office Supplies and was previously employed at Purnell’s Pride and Community Federal.
Mike had a servant’s heart. He was a faithful member of Harrisburg Baptist Church, serving in the choir and teaching Sunday School. He was a devoted member of Mike Ferris’ Sunday School Class prior to his passing. Internationally he served on twenty seven mission trips in Honduras, Russia, China, Kenya, Hungary, Uganda, Argentina, Mexico, Greece, Nicaragua, Israel, Jordan, and Ecuador.
He served with the Kairos Prison Ministries, Gideons, Meals on Wheels, Missions at Parchman, Faith Haven, Church After School Association, and the Girl Scouts of America.
He was a Director at Large of the Lee County Republican Club, member and former chairman of the Tupelo Republican Executive Committees.
He was a member of the Tupelo Civitans for forty nine years and a past President.
He is survived by his daughters, Amy McCoy, Anna Brann (Will), and Alice Griggs (Brad); grandchildren, Mary Dru Borland (Jacob), Gavin McCoy, Smythe McCoy, Addie McCoy, Singley Sinclair, Eli Sinclair, Travis Sinclair, Colton Griggs, and Peyton Griggs; and the mother of his children, Laura Young; sister, Linda Riley; brother, Danny Maynard (Dianne); sister-in-law, Joan Maynard; special nephew and brother, Rick Maynard (Chris); and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dep and Addie Grace Maynard; brothers, Jim Maynard, Herschel Maynard, Richard Maynard, Bob Maynard, and Charles Maynard; sisters, Joyce Grissom and Carolyn Furr.
Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2025, at Pegues, Tupelo.
Services in honor of Mr. Mike Maynard will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Harrisburg Baptist Church with Bro. Rob Armstrong officiating. A family burial will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Gavin McCoy, Smythe McCoy, Bennett Maynard, Matt Maynard, Jon Maynard, Larry Grissom, Luke Hollimon, and Drew Hollimon.
