Mike McCormack

Lawrence “Mike” McCormack was born Nov. 12, 1951, to Billie Ann and Lawrence McCormack. He passed from this life March 1, 2026, in Oklahoma City with his family by his side.

Graveside service is at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Duncan Cemetery with Dean and Freda Hall and Lynn Mefford officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter Smart Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4 at the Carter Smart Funeral Home.

Mike was a 1970 graduate of Elk City High School. He married Sherrie Gayle Williams Jan. 18, 1975. Mike began his career with The Duncan Banner in 1975, where he remained for over 50 years. He was also the owner of McCormack’s Vending. Mike loved to cook – his specialty was smoking meats. Mike was also an avid sports fan and loved the OU Sooners.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Billie Ann Maddox and Lawrence McCormack; mother and father-in-law, Margie and Harvey Williams and sister-in-law, Rhonda Ruiz.

Pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews: Sommer and David Condren, Amber and David Morgan, Andy Ruiz, Allyson Caudill and Paul Blasé, and Abby and James Howell.

Mike loved his Sooners – please wear red or OU attire and jeans.
