Mike Slaton Obituary
A gathering for friends and family will be Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Gray Memorial Chapel from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
Mike was born on, October 6, 1955, to the late Winford Alonzo and Freddie Smith Slaton in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth and Ricky Perkey.
Mike was a member of the Electricians Union, IBEW, for forty five years. Mike was the family historian and enjoyed compiling ancestry history, He was devoted to his family and friends and was kind, funny and compassionate. Mikes faith filled life was his guiding light for he and Phillis's daily devotion.
Mike is survived by his wife of twenty four years, Phyllis Slaton and daughters Michelle Slaton and her child, I'yanna Parks, Kristine (Jake) Jacobs and their children, Anslee and Connor, step-sons, James Stacy Kittle II (Melissa), and their children J.J. and Miles, Jeb S. Kittle (Felicia) and their children, Wesley, Jovie, Sean, and Johnathon Cutcher.

I am so very sorry to hear about Mike. He was a wonderful friend and we had so much fun in high school. Mike would write me funny stories when we were in study hall. Mike and I also had history class together of which if it wasn't for him I think I would still be sitting in that class..lol. We had just reconnected a few years back and so enjoyed our talks. I will truly miss him. Heartfelt prayers go out to his wife and family.

Prayers go out to the Slaton family. Some of my favorite memories from work involve the days and weeks I was blessed to work with Mike, "Fruitcake" was my friend and you will be missed.
