Joseph Michael Summers, known affectionately as Mike to his friends and family, departed this world at Mon General Hospital, while surrounded by his loving family on June 4, 2024, at the age of 64, in the same town where he first began his journey, Morgantown, WV. Born on February 24, 1960, to the late Herbert Wesley Summers, Jr. and Esther Ruth Satterfield Summers, who survives.
Mike will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Janet Summers; his son, Chad Michael Summers and family; his caring sister, Robyn Warbel (John); his brother, Jason Summers; sister-in-law Kim Peck (Roger) and brother-in-law John Bailey; 4 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and the joyous laughter of several nieces, nephews, and one cherished great-niece.
He spent many years traversing the nation's highways as a CDL truck driver, carrying not just goods, but also a spirit of dedication. Mike also worked for Mountain Line Transit Authority, until his retirement. Mike was a man of the outdoors, finding solace in hunting, fishing, and reveling in the beauty of nature. His skillful hands built not only a home but also a haven filled with warmth and love.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Mike's memory to the American Heart Association, at: PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 or online at: www.heart.org.
