Sadly, our beloved, Mikhail Verpukhovsky, 97, passed away on August 27, 2025, after battling cardiovascular and kidney system problems. Mikhail was born in Moscow, the capital of Russia. After graduating from The Second Moscow Medical Institute with Doctoral Degree in Radiology, he had worked as a radiologist and a head of the radiology department in Raminskoye, the suburb of the city of Moscow. Mikhail has been a doctor for 35 years. In the medical institute he met Emiliya and they wed in 1953, going on to have Alexander, the love of Mikhail's life, in 1955. Mikhail and his family moved to New York in 1989 and relocated to Sacramento in 1993. Mikhail was predeceased by his wife, Emiliya, in 2021. He is survived by his son, Alexander Verpukhovsky, daughter-in-law, Yelena Lipskaya, his grandsons, Ilya and Alan Verpukhovsky, his sister Nelya Loytsker, and his brother, Alexander Verpuhovskiy. Mikhail also leaves behind a brokenhearted, loving group of relatives and friends. Mikhail was an amazing strong man, he was fiercely independent, and had a bright smile! Mikhail was smart, courageous, loving, and full of joy. He had an impact on each person he interacted with and helped a thousand of his patients. He lived his life to the fullest, despite his many challenges. His greatest joys and accomplishments were the gifts of being a dad to Alexander, grandfather to Ilya and Alan, and big brother to Nelya and Alexander. Mikhail loved her entire family. He worried about them, rooted for them, supported and protected them, and always kept on helping them. Mikhail's loss is deeply felt by his family and all those who knew and loved him. His memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, courage, and compassion in whose lives he touched.
