Obituary For Mikilynn "Miki" Cook

Mikilynn "Miki" Cook, age 68, of Mingo Junction, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026 surrounded by love, after a long battle with lymphoma. Miki was born on June 11, 1957 in Steubenville, Ohio.

Miki was a devoted mother and a proud grandmother whose life centered entirely on her family. She is survived by her loving daughter, Jamie McGinnis; her son-in-law, Ben McGinnis; her cherished grandchildren-Liam, Luca, Lochlan, Piper, and Carmen-who were the absolute joy of her life. Nothing brought her more happiness than time spent with them, hearing about their days, and watching them grow. She went to their games and dance performances whenever she could and was always their biggest fan-cheering the loudest, celebrating every accomplishment, and supporting them with boundless pride and love. She showed her love by showing up-and she always did; her adoptive father, Harry "Papou" Maragos; her uncle, Albert "Angel" Arabia; and her step-daughter, Karrie Wedlake.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George "Louie" Cook Sr., who passed away five years ago, one day after her passing; her biological father, Michael Arabia; and her mother, Irene Maragos. She carried the memory of those she loved deeply in her heart, and we take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with them.

Miki was known for her strength, resilience, and unwavering love for her family. She was also known for always having a camera or phone in hand, capturing moments and memories-especially of those she loved most. A devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates, she rarely missed watching a game. A proud graduate of Jefferson Union High School, Class of 1975, she carried lifelong pride in her roots and community.

No one will ever forget her quick humor, infectious laugh, and the way she could lighten any room. Throughout her long battle with lymphoma, she showed remarkable courage and grace, always more concerned with the well-being of those she loved than with herself.

In accordance with her wishes, no funeral services will be held. She will be honored privately by her family. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Tony Teramana Cancer Center for their compassionate care over the past several years.
