I'm sorry to hear that Millie is gone, and I wish the best for her family.

I didn't know Millie, but as a former resident of Windber (born there in 1954), I was grateful to be able to learn more about the origins of the town I grew up in. She will live on through her writing.

Millie was a dear friend from our graduate school days. She and Bill were among our closest friends.
Carl and Gilberto, please accept our condolences. She was a wonderful person, and her research and work all reflect her pride in her heritage. Deborah and Stephen Haliczer
