Mildred V. “Millie” Beining
OTTOVILLE – Mildred V. “Millie” Beining, 99, of Ottoville, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. She was born June 30, 1926, in Landeck to the late August and Anna (Krietemeyer) Beckman. On May 8, 1948, she married Adolph “Ottie” Beining of Ottoville, he preceded her in death on July 6, 2014.
Millie is survived by six children: Kenneth (Rita) Beining of Ft. Jennings, Jane (Bob) Kahle of Kalida, Rosie (Bill) Heitmeyer, Bill (Bonnie) Beining, Carl (Ginny) Beining, and Steve (Lori) Beining, all of Ottoville; nineteen grandchildren: Nathan (Anita) Beining, Darren (Leslie) Beining, Kristen (Tammy) Beining, Greg Kahle, Kevin (Mandi) Kahle, Jeff (Casey) Kahle, Beth (Chad) Moening, Cari (John) Sigrist, Troy (Laura) Heitmeyer, Rhonda (Ryan) Bishop, Brian (Audrey) Beining, Blaine (Kayla) Beining, Brad Beining, Becky (Kyle) Macke, Neil (Trish) Beining, Carla (Trevor) Bonifas, Brittany Beining, Morgan (Derek) Verhoff, Taylor (Jacob Hermiller) Beining; forty-four great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law: Mari Lou Beining of Union Town, OH.
She is preceded in death by siblings, Elmer (Mildred) (Jane) Beckman and Rita (Julius) Beining; a great-grandson: Ryan Beining.
When she married Ottie in 1948, they set up housekeeping on the farm where they lived their entire married lives. In her younger days she enjoyed sewing, doing puzzles and later volunteered at the Delphos Thrift Store. Millie had also worked as a secretary for Bill Jones Realtor. She always had cookies in the freezer for the grand and great grandkids. Millie was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and its Altar Rosary Society.
Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with the Very Reverend George Mahas and Fr. John Stites officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township with a scripture service beginning at 1:45 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception Repair Fund.
