Mildred Louise Erickson born August 20, 1948 to Herbert and Bessie (Huebner) Popp, in Pipestone, Mn. She attended school in Pipestone and graduated HS there in June, 1966.
Milly joined the love of her life, Harry Erickson, in marriage in August of 1966. After attending 1 year of college, she decided to join Harry on his journey in the Navy. While in the Navy, they lived on Midway Island where they enjoyed observing the Gooney Birds that inhabited the island. When Harry's Navy journey ended, they moved to Minneapolis. She loved their quiet neighborhood and took good care of the squirrels that came in their yard.
Over the years, they had several pet birds, Thomas being their most recent, that they enjoyed for almost 20 years.
She loved being a housewife to Harry. They enjoyed couponing together and liked to get things for free. She enjoyed baking and sewing with her sister, Alice, and loved just hanging out together.
She is survived by "adopted" sons Chee and Thong Chang and family. Sister in laws, Gail Werner, Denise (Lenny) Dahms, of Redwood Falls, Mn, Mary Erickson of Minot ND, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Close friends, Christine and Phil Lindell Detweiler
She preceded in death by Harry, her husband. Herb, her dad, Bessie, her mom, and Alice, her sister.
A heartfelt thank you goes to her caregivers at Harbors Senior Living, the caregivers at Hospice of the Midwest, and a special thank you to her good friends Christine and Phil for all of their comfort and care.
