Mildred E. Johnson, 94, entered eternal rest peacefully at home in Santa Rosa, CA on May 18, 2021. Millie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 75 years, Frank Johnson, daughter, Pamela Pitkin and great grandson, Marcus Johnson. Millie is survived and lovingly remembered by her devoted son Bob (Dolly) Johnson; six grandchildren, Rob (Gina) Johnson, Larry (Terry) Pitkin, Suzie Slubik, Don (Deanna) Johnson, Jay (Bulelwa) Pitkin and John Pitkin; 12 great grandchildren: Hayden Johnson, Zack, Bryce and Clayton Pitkin, Chelsea and Brian Slubik, Chase (Hayley Tarca) and Colby Johnson, JJ, Skyler, and Rylen Pitkin and Matt Steiner; one great-great grandson, Carter Pitkin. Millie was born and raised in Portland, Oregon where she met her husband, Frank. They were married in 1944 and lived in Marin County before moving to Santa Rosa in 1961, where they opened Johnny Franklin's Muffler Shop with their son Bob. Millie loved golfing, fishing, crosswords and playing her favorite card games, Bridge and Hand & Foot with friends and family. Her family loved hearing the story of how she ended up taking an aviation class when the class she wanted wasn't available, eventually receiving her private pilot license. "Flying is easy, really nothing to it", she'd say. Millie's smile could light up a room and her love for her family was paramount. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 12 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Roses in Santa Rosa, CA. A private family burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Marcus Johnson Memorial Foundation at 1535 Farmers Lane, #124, Santa Rosa, CA 95405.
