Mildred Bryan King, 77, passed away on December 8, 2025. She was born on May 29, 1948, in Atlanta, GA. After graduating from Jefferson High School, she earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Brenau University. She touched the lives of many children while serving in various roles of teaching at Jefferson City Schools for over 30 years. She was grateful for the profound connection she felt within the school system and the community she served.
She loved long walks on the beach, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris M. Bryan, Jr., and Eileen Hennebry Bryan, and sister Eileen Bryan Corbett.
Survivors include Charles, her loving husband of over 32 years; children Shade (Miranda) Storey of Jefferson, GA, and Mimi (Michael) Young of Monroe, GA. The lights of her life were her grandchildren, Emma and Ethan Storey of Jefferson, and Bailey Williamson of Monroe.
Other survivors include brothers Morris M. Bryan III (Angela) of Greer, South Carolina; Stephen (Lisa) Bryan of Walpole, New Hampshire; Joseph (Cinda) Bryan of Billings, Montana; sisters Kathleen Brandhofer-Bryan of Berlin, Germany, and Virginia H. Bryan (Tim Campos) of Groton, Connecticut, along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 15, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, EAST. Interment will follow at Oconee Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Shane Guined, Trey Halley, Ethan Storey, Michael Waters, Andrew Waters and Michael Young.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jefferson City School Foundation, Morris M. Bryan Jr. Scholarship. P. O. Box 624, Jefferson, GA, 30549.
