Mildred A. Knoebel, 95, of Grotto Drive, passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2025, in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born March 23, 1929, in Sunbury a daughter of the late Herbert and Grace (Thomas) Bartholomew. On Oct. 24, 1947, she married Donald E. Knoebel, who preceded her in death.
Mildred was a member of St. Luke's and United Lutheran Church both in Sunbury.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, embroidery and tending the animals on the family farm. She also enjoyed meeting people and making new friends and spending time at their cabin in Ontario, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandkids.
Mildred is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law Thomas H. and Ruth Knoebel, Timothy R. and Ann Marie Knoebel; daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Michael Boone; grandchildren Jeremy, Matthew, Nathan, Jonathan, Adam, Michael Jr., and Garrett; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law Paul and Joyce Bartholomew and Robert and Karen Bartholomew; and two sisters Shirley Mull and Joyce Heimbach.
She was preceded in death by grandson Ethan Boone, brothers Clayton, Herbert Jr., and Franklin Bartholomew.
A viewing will be held Thursday, Feb. 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, and again from 10 to 11 a.m. at United Lutheran Church, 167 7 Points Road, Sunbury, where the service will be held at 11 with Pastor Ann Zimmerman officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations in Mildred's memory may be made to the Haven Ministry Center, 1043 S Front St., Sunbury PA, 17801
