Mildred Forrester Kolb, born February 21, 1926, died peacefully on August 19, 2025, at the age of 99. A woman of grace, compassion, and strength, Mildred lived a life dedicated to caring for others, as a devoted nurse and a loving wife, mother, and friend.

Raised in Hamilton, OH, alongside her six siblings, Mildred's early years were shaped by a family that valued hard work and creativity. She received a degree from Mercy Hospital Nursing School and worked as a registered nurse at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC.

Mildred was married to her beloved husband, William Dwight Kolb, for 69 years until his death in 2017. Together, they built a life with their shared passions for reading, playing golf, and being with friends. Mildred was a wonderful inspiration to her two daughters, Karen Blair (Jimmy Jackson) and Kathy Hardison (Jim Hardison); as well as to her five grandchildren, Mary Winston Blair (Dan Daniel), John Blair, Willis Hooper (Rand Hooper), Millie Glenn (Jim Glenn), Jimbo Hardison (Emma Hardison); and lately, three great-grandsons, Lee Hooper, James and Butler Glenn. She is survived by her brothers, Oz Forrester (Linda) and Ed Forrester (Phyllis); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

During the past eight years, Mildred became part of a vibrant community at Arbor Acres. There, she formed deep friendships and was cherished by members of the staff for her kindness and interest in each person's family. Mildred's ability to connect with others often began with a welcoming hug. Mildred's legacy is one of kindness, service, and generosity.
