Mildred Mainzer

Mildred "Millie" Mainzer, 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 5, 2023. She was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. A 56 year resident of Bowie, MD she was born on June 1, 1928 to Sam and Esther Chertok in Boston, MA. She and her husband of 69 years, Bob, lived in New York for 16 years before moving to Maryland. Millie was known for her sunny disposition, radiant smile and kindness. She was referred to as a "ray of sunshine" by her caregivers in her final months. She and her husband were active with volunteer work in the local public library for almost 2 decades. She also volunteered with many community organizations and was an avid reader, wonderful cook and artistically talented. Millie was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol and husband, Bob. She is survived by her sister, Ros; son, Richard; daughter-in-law, Lorrie; and grandson, David.
