Mildred Bone Peaden, 86 of Wilson passed away Tuesday. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Evergreen Memorial Park, 2800 W Nash Street, Wilson. Rev. Chuck Owens will officiate.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Mildred was a member of Unity Freewill Baptist Church in Wilson. She loved the Lord, her church, and her family. Seamstress by trade at Seams and Carolina Casuals, she continued sewing for others long after retirement. She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, tending to her flowers, and sharing plants with neighbors, friends, and family. She will be missed tremendously by all that knew and loved her.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Teresa Bailey and husband, John McCray of Elm City; grandsons, Andrew Bailey and wife, Jennifer of Franklinton, and Matthew Bailey and partner, Meghan Marks of Wilson, and her great-grandchildren, Paxton and Ella Bailey, and Jackson, Thomas, and Ella Marks.
She was preceded by her husband, George A. Peaden; parents, Andrew and Estelle Rose Bone; sister, Margie Peaden, and her brother, Hoyet Bone.
Flowers are welcome or please consider memorials in Mildred’s memory to Unity Free Will Baptist Church, 2200 Downing Street, Wilson, North Carolina 27893.
