Mildred Ruth "Tuggle" Pitman

A Funeral Service for Mildred Ruth (Tuggle) Pitman, age 97, of Thackerville, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 20, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Saint Jo. Burial to follow at Mountain Park Cemetery in Saint Jo. Visitation will be held from 10:30-11:00 AM on Friday, February 20, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Saint Jo. Pallbearers will be Dusty Brown, Randy Brown, James Pitman, Clint Hoepfner, Jonathan Matthews, and Riley Brown.

Mildred was born on October 26, 1928 to Samuel Ambers 'Sam' and Minnie Lee (Tucker) Tuggle at the family home in Cooke County, Texas. She married Tommie James 'Red' Pitman on November 7, 1946 at Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Gainesville, Texas. They moved to Buckner Baptist Ranch North of Muenster in 1957. The two were married until Red's passing in 1991.

Mildred loved being a cowgirl at the Ranch, a homemaker and stay at home mom to her children and later, a seamstress. She went to work at the sewing factory in Muenster in 1969 where she worked her way up to being a Supervisor. She also cleaned house for the Fredericks who lived at what is now Blue Ostrich Winery. A lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Saint Jo, Mildred taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

Mildred is survived by her children: Sheri and husband Larry Tisdale of Muenster, William 'Buddy' and wife Marcia Pitman of Homer, Louisianna, Judy and husband Dale Brown of Thackerville, Oklahoma, and Joy and husband Allen Byars of Beggs, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Lisa and husband Clint Hoepfner of Muenster, Kimberly and husband Jonathan Matthews of Quitman, Louisianna, Dusty Brown of Thackerville, Oklahoma, Randy Brown of Moore, Oklahoma, and Rachel Byars of Beggs, Oklahoma; great grandchildren: Macie Pagel of Denton, Taylor Brown of Moore, Oklahoma, and Riley and wife Sadi Brown of Thackerville, Oklahoma; great great granddaughter: Hallie Brown of Thackerville, Oklahoma; and numerous extended friends and family.

Preceding her in death are her husband: Tommie J. 'Red' Pitman; parents: Sam and Minnie Tuggle; siblings: Frankie Hamilton, Hugh Lee Tuggle, Aubry 'Hoker' Tuggle, Jack Tuggle, Bob Tuggle, V.R. 'Boomer' Tuggle, Arthur Tuggle and Frances 'Fran' Parsons. She was the last of her siblings to pass away.
