Mildred Caldwell "Mickey" Shepherd

Mildred "Mickey" Caldwell Shepherd, 91, of Blacksburg, Virginia died, Thursday, March 5, 2026. She was born in Montgomery County, Virginia on November 29, 1935, to the late Ernest H. and Annie Bell Caldwell. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Shepherd; sister, Thelma L. Collins; brothers, J. Kent Caldwell, Ernest H. Caldwell, Jr., and Emmett A. Caldwell.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gala and Calvin Price; granddaughters, Heather Scalia (Jack), and Samantha Price (Jeffery Clark); special family, Evelyn and Danny McGlothlin, Becky and Ervin Williams, David Bailey, Delores Wall, Arnita and John Perfater, Machell and Jay Schmolitz; and lots of other family and close friends.

Mickey retired from A&P and Wades Supermarket. She was also a wonderful mother, grandmother, and community friend to everyone she met.

Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, March 13, 2026, at 2:00 pm, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Danny McGlothlin and Kenny Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at McCoy Funeral Home.
