Mildred Ruby Webb, 94, of Oxford, died on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at NEARMC surrounded by her family.
Per Ruby's wishes, no public services will be held at this time.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Porter Pendergrass and Nealie Ball Teal; her daughter, Opal Sue Book; her son, James Dickerson; one brother, Aubrey Pendergrass; two sisters, Sue Cotton and Aultrey Barkley; and many other loved ones.
Those left to cherish the memory of Ruby include her children, Oliver "Poncho" Dickenson, Leonard Huckabee (Charlotte), Ralph "R.D." Drinnen, Dora C. Webb-Ingram, Randy Webb, Betty Zabriskie, and Debbie Nichols; her grandchildren, Brittney Doyle, Morgan Erdman, and Summer Erdman; her great-grandchildren, Daylynn Adams, MaryJane Doyle, Athena Gonzalez, Rosie Gonzalez, Lucy Gonzalez, and Bentley Brimer; one sister, Ola Mae Burrage; a host of nieces and nephews; and numerous relatives and friends.
Ruby was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an avid gardener who loved to tend to her flowers of which roses were her absolute favorite. Anyone who knew Ruby knew that her roses were to be "untouched and left to her for pruning". In her spare time Ruby enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Over the years, Ruby babysat many children and adored babies. She was an excellent caregiver and truly a "people person". Ruby will be forever remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
