Gery Rust Obituary
Gery died on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Wayne Rust; and his grandparents, Paden and Winnie Cooper and John and Nola B. Rust.
Those left to cherish the memory of Gery include his mother, Shirley Abernathy; and his brothers, Sean Rust and Scott Rust (Nan).
Gery was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and was a graduate of Jacksonville State University. He was employed with the Center of Domestic Preparedness where he worked for AFC Development in Technology. Gery was a loving and devoted son and a dedicated and loyal brother. He was an avid Auburn football and basketball fan and enjoyed being a fan of Arsenal FC. To know Gery was to love him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
