Graveside services for Mildred Bess Wier, 91, of Lovington will be held Friday, August 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Tatum Cemetery with Pastor Wayne Brazil officiating. Mildred was born on February 7, 1934 in Knowles, New Mexico to John Lewis and Cordelia Frances (Higgins) Coleman and passed away on August 18, 2025. Mildred married Thomas Wier on December 22, 1957. Becoming the Mom of six boys. She loved her family and enjoyed being at home on the farm and watching her boys grow up marry adding wives for each, 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Family was very important to Mildred. She loved large gatherings at her home that included family and neighbors, the more the merrier.

Mildred was married to Tom for 45 years. Together they farmed and raised cattle. Mildred helped Tom in the fields, with windmills, and anywhere she was needed. She loved to cook all enjoyed sitting at her table. After Toms death, she spent her days watching her cows, coloring entire coloring books with colored pencils for each family member that brought her a color book, now a cherished memory for each. Mildred loved to embroidery and she would teach stitches to any kid that had a desire to learn. She filled her days with things to keep her mind and hands busy.

She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Cordelia Coleman; her husband: Thomas Wier; sister: Betty Faye Kirk; brother: Lewis Edwin (Sonny) Coleman; son: Thomas Steven Wier; daughter-in-law: Theresa Wier; grandson: Joseph Coleman (Cole) Wier and his wife Tympe Wier;

grandson-in-law: Sean Guthrie.

She was survived by five sons: Ross Wier and wife Rhonda; Tim Wier and wife Tammy; Andy Wier and wife Sheila; Allan Wier; Rory Wier and wife Cassie; daughter-in-law Debbie (Chastain) Wier (Steve's 2nd wife); 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
