Mildred Novene Williams gained her wings on October 15, 2025, surrounded by her family when she lost her battle with lung cancer. Born July 19, 1946, she was the daughter of Albert Sr. and Helen Hebron.
Mildred, affectionately known as "Milly Rock" or "Milly," grew up in Boyds, MD. She was educated in the Montgomery County Public School System before going to work with her mother at an early age. Mildred had an awesome purpose in life. She became Mom to Antonio J. Hebron and Marie E. Hebron. In 1966, Mildred met and married Edward W. Williams, Sr., and through their union came Yvette, Brenda, Shawnez, Edward Jr. and Jeffrey Williams.
By going to work at an early age, Mildred learned the art of domestic work and found several jobs in that field before settling in at the Ramada Inn in Rockville, where she went in as a housekeeper and 25 years later left as an assistant manager. But Mildred wasn't one to just work that one job. She also worked for Montgomery County Public Schools as a bus attendant for 30 years before finally retiring (She retired at least three times).
Mildred loved the Lord. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ under the leadership of the late Pastor Joe Trammel and current Pastor John W. Trammel, Jr. until her passing. Although she lived in North Carolina, she watched her service on Zoom and only when that was unavailable, did she start watching Pleasant Grove Christian Community Church with Pastor Lawrence W. Bryant.
Besides her family and her pets, Mildred loved music, whether it was gospel or her "oldies but goodies." Mildred also loved forever in her eyes the Washington Redskins (a.k.a. Commanders), shopping, and her flowers.
Mildred leaves to mourn her five children: Antonio (Regina), Yvette, Brenda Bautista (Simone), Edward Jr. (Julie), and Jeffrey; five siblings, Gloria Hallman, Albert Hebron, Joyce Steele, Silvia King (Gregory) and Robert Hebron (Doretta); 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters; special friends, Edward Pennie, Charles and Sissy Williams, and finally, the fourth Golden Girl, Penny Joppy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, bonus children, and bonus grandchildren.
Mildred was preceded in death by her: parents, Albert and Helen Hebron; grandparents, Arthur and Helen Naylor; husband, Edward; two daughters, Marie and Shawnez; grandson, Donté; bonus daughter, Yolanda Trammel; and in-laws, Robert, Bertha, and Winzell.
