Mildred Virginia Williamson Wilson graced this world with her presence on March 23, 1928, in the heart of Mecklenburg County, Virginia. After a brief period of illness, she departed from this earthly realm peacefully on March 31, 2025, at Granville Medical Center in Oxford, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.
Mildred was a beloved matriarch, cherished by many. She is now reunited with her devoted husband, Joseph Nelson Wilson, as well as her sons, Joseph Larry Wilson and Kenneth Desmond Wilson, and her grandson, Kenneth Desmond Wilson II. She was preceded in death by her esteemed parents, George Beasley Williamson and Rosa Mae Wilson Williamson, alongside her dear siblings: sisters Anna Bell Propst and Mary Frances Green, and brothers Leroy Williamson and Edward Williamson.
In her passing, Mildred leaves a vibrant tapestry of family who will hold her memory dear. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Wilson Daniel, daughter-in-law, Carolyn Wilson and sister-in-law, Diane Williamson. Mildred was a proud grandmother to grandsons Larry Wilson II (and Alison) and Chris Wilson (and Heather), and granddaughters Jennifer Daniel Ellington (and Benbury) and Emily Daniel Hale (and Bryan). Her legacy further lives on through her precious great-grandchildren, including Lauren Wilson, Darrell Wilson (and Britany), Dillon Wilson (and Melissa), Conner Bartholomew, Mackenzie Proctor, Riley Proctor, Hailey Ellington, Jacob Hale, Andrew Hale, Noah Wilson, Ellie Wilson, Aaron Wilson, and Anna Claire Wilson. She was also blessed with great-great-grandchildren, Madilynn Bell, A.J. Wilson, Adrian Wilson, Wyatt Wilson, and Avery Wilson, as well as her loving nieces, Daphine Campbell and Carol Reese. The warmth of her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and an abundance of friends.
Mildred was an active member of the Mary Jamison Women’s Club of Oxford, where her spirit of service and community shone brightly.
