Mr. Miles Moore, a retired auto dealership manager in Las Cruces, New Mexico entered into to rest peacefully early Tuesday morning December 30, 2025 at his son's Popes Hill Community home with his family present. He was pronounced deceased at 1:42 a.m. by Gentiva Hospice of Livingston at the age of 78. He had resided with his son and daughter-in-law since November of this year after becoming ill.
Mr. Moore was to be cremated at the Cumberland Family Services in Algood, following the family making arrangements at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home.
No local plans for a memorial service or visitation have been scheduled.
He was born Miles Harvey Moore in Charleston in Kanawha County, West Virginia on May 7, 1947 and was the son Gordon and Peggy Eplin Moore, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Mann Moore; a step-father, Ralph Tawil; a brother, Douglas Eplin; and by the mother of his children, Reba Kisamore Moore Beaver.
He attended high school through the twelfth grade.
Mr. Moore was a former Texaco service station owner in Rockford, Illinois.
Before retirement in 2023, he was the General Manager of Las Cruces Toyota in Las Cruces New Mexico.
Mr. Moore was a non-denominational Christian.
As do many persons of his generation, he possessed a great love for dogs and before coming to Tennessee had four of his own.
Surviving is his three children, Jason Moore and wife Versie of the Popes Hill Community, Shane Moore and wife Pamela of Carolina Beach, North Carolina, Jodi Moore and husband Larry Horn of Columbus, Ohio; two siblings, Teresa Lacaria of Virginia, Eric Tawil of Las Cruces, New Mexico; twelve grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
