Amelia (Millie) Ernestine Lucero was born January 26, 1941 in Walsenburg, CO and gained her angels wings on October 8, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Lucero and Mary (Mike) Rampa, her sons Kenny and Jeff Salazar, her former
husband Isaac Salazar, her sister Lelia Montez and brother in-law Ralph Salas.
She is survived by her sisters Nancy Manzanares and Jeanette (Sol) Villalon, as well as her very close cousins Ben (Lavinia) and John Read,
and Dora Vigil. Her children are Robert (Rose) Salazar, Sherry (Mike) Mann, Sandy (Robert) Garcia, and Pauline (Terence) Sandoval.
Her grandchildren are Shannon (Lindsey (Luke) Gomez, Isaac Salazar. Andrea and Tara Vialpando, Michael Zudar, Lacey (Travis) Taylor,
Terence (Michele) Sandoval, Adam (Brandace) Sandoval, Daniel Garcia, Jeff Salazar Jr., Ryan (Kelsey) Salazar, Meagan
(Mariah Meshefski) Salazar, and Miranda (Anthony) Hernandez, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
Millie enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved traveling, playing bingo, researching genealogy, hosting family gatherings and
cheering for the Denver Broncos. She worked as a teacher's aide for many years and in 1974 she won an Outstanding
Volunteer award for her work as a volunteer. She had a heart of gold and was willing to give or help any one in any way that she could.
She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Funeral service will be Wednesday Oct 15th at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Viewing will be at 9:00, Rosary at 9:30, and Mass after the rosary.
Burial will be at the North St Mary's cemetery and reception will follow at Delaney Hall behind the Catholic church.
