Milo Muhlenbruck, 89, of Greene, passed away, Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at MercyOne-North Iowa, in Mason City. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 23, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Greene with burial at Fairview Cemetery, Dows. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory, Greene is caring for Milo. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Greene. Milo Dean Muhlenbruck was born March 13, 1936, near Latimer, a son of Harry and Malinda (Plagge) Muhlenbruck. At a young age Harry became injured and by age 9 Milo was driving tractor for area farmers gathering hay and saved money to buy a motor scooter so he could travel to more farms to work for them. He graduated from Franklin Consolidated High School in 1954 then attended Eagle Grove Junior College where he played basketball and baseball. On August 3, 1956, Milo was united in marriage with Kay Martin at the Dows United Methodist Church. He then attended Iowa State Teachers College (UNI), eventually earning his Master's degree. He taught at Dolliver for 2 years then moved to Greene where he taught Business Education for 34 years as well as coaching. For more than 40 years Milo had a painting business in Greene painting homes and businesses. Milo was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, where he served on the council and various boards, he served on the Greene Library Board and the Greene City Council, he also taught Sunday School with Kay for many years and was a mentor to several Confirmation students. Family members include his wife of 69 years, Kay; daughters: Cynthia Sue (David) Schuknecht, Waverly; Sherri (Barry) Delp, Davenport; Kathlene Jo (Donald Fritze) Muhlenbruck, Coralville; grandchildren: Dan (Suzanne) Schuknecht; Darin (Jill) Schuknecht; Adam (Catie) Delp; Jordan (Kaley) Delp; Erika (Blake) Hughes; Derrick (Kattie) Huebner; Ethan (Nicki Stout) Huebner; Ahren Huebner; 15 great grandchildren with one on the way; many nieces and nephews. Milo is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Darleen, Delores, Deone and 1 brother in infancy.
