Milo Rhees Obituary

OAKWOOD - Milo "Gale" Rhees, 83, of Oakwood, died 7 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born August 27, 1940, in Oakwood to the late Milo and Mabel (Hillier) Rhees. On March 25, 1959, he married Janice L. Aldrich-Stahl, who preceded him in death on November 5, 2018.

Gale is survived by three children: Jeff (Lisa) Rhees of Defiance, Debbie Rhees and Rick (Sheila) Rhees, both of Continental; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Frances Matson and Kathleen Goodwin.

He is also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Angel Varner; and a sister, Louise Grimes.

Gale retired after 43 years from S-K Wayne Hand Tools and was a long-time member of Dupont Church of the Brethen. He was an avid woodworker and loved camping, hunting and most of all spending time with friends and family.

Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Rev. Terry Porter and Rev. Solomon Okang officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Gideons International or Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.
