Milton LeRoy "Mick" Christenson

1944 - 2025

Faribault - Milton L. "Mick" Christenson, age 81, of Faribault, died Monday, August 25, 2025, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.

A private celebration of life with military honors and burial at St. John Cemetery, Owatonna will take place in September.

Arrangements are being completed by Boldt Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Faribault.

Milton LeRoy, son of Milton and Virginia (Chase) Christenson, was born May 6, 1944, in Albert Lea. Mick graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1962. He enlisted in the United States Navy serving on the USS Beale as an engine room boiler technician located on the firing line of South Vietnam. From there, he traveled the world on the USS Beale promoting the Navy. Mick was honorably discharged in 1967, he was very proud to be a veteran and was dedicated to serving on the Honor Guard. Mick worked as a welder at Wilson's Foods in Albert Lea, Olson's Manufacturing and McNeilus Trucking. He loved the north country and enjoyed his time as a maintenance welder at the Iron Ore Mine. Mick never knew a stranger, he loved to talk with people, tell stories and had a wonderful sense of humor - often chuckling at his own jokes! If he ever knew of anyone in need, he was always there for them. Mick enjoyed to hunt, fish, and search for arrowheads and agates. Mick was very creative, he enjoyed painting and creating his inventions, he also loved a good rummage.

Mick shared his life with Judy Gores and his dog, Freckles and is also survived by his son, Jason Christenson; grandchildren; great grandchildren; brothers, Harold and Jerry; other relatives and many friends.

Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Virginia; wife, Karolyn in 2008; son, David in 2011; sister, Kathy Kunkel; brother; Mark Christenson; and other relatives.
