Milton Zohn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Island Cremations and Funeral Home on Sep. 24, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that the family announces the death of Milton (Mike) Zohn, who was fatally wounded in an automobile accident on September 12 in Brevard County, Florida. Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1938, he was drawn from a young age to the study of science, religion and "the way things work". After earning BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, he served as an intelligence officer in the US Air Force and for the remainder of his professional life as an independent consultant in satellite information systems for the Department of Defense. In his spare time, he became the proverbial Renaissance man, with an insatiable curiosity about philosophy, theology, physics, mathematics, medicine , history, and the law, always in pursuit of the meaning of life and universal truth. He is survived by his sister, three children, three former spouses and a loving friend. A memorial celebration of life for family and friends will be announced later.

So sad to learn of my friend Mikee's tragic death! My deepest sympathies to his family. Mikee had a positive outlook on life. I remember him often saying, "Another Day in Paradise!"

As a young child Mike was married to my mother and was my step father. Although I hadn't spoken to him for many years, I do feel that there are some things that he left with me. His insatiable appetite for books and keeping a knowledge seeking behavior for sure are a part of who I am. I do look at the things that are unwanted by others, like furniture and random household items, and try to justify bringing them home (he did like to hoard) and often have a smile and think that that is something that I learned from Mike.
From my memories, I know that he was a good hearted man and his eccentric ways were just a part of who he was. I'm sorry for your loss, Jayne, Irene, and Gerald.
Jeffrey Welch.

Mike, We had good times together, in particular attending 2-3 stock club meetings a month, and exploring asian food, greek food. Can't believe that was 25 years ago, before I moved to Sedona. I will always remember you. Marlene Tate

Milton "Mikee" was a long-time friend. We shared several social groups in Central Florida. His great sense of humor and vast knowledge of history, science and religion made our conversations always interesting and lively. I will miss him greatly. RIP
