Mr. Min Zhang, 52, of Frederick, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 30, 2025 from an acute myocardial infarction. As the youngest of three brothers, he grew up in China’s Anhui Province where he had an independent and happy childhood. He earned his Ph.D. in genetics at Fudan University, Shanghai where he met his lifelong partner, Peirong Hu.

Min embarked on a journey to America in July of 2000 where he led an ambitious career that led him from job to job across the states, from California, to Missouri, to Indiana, to North Carolina, and finally to Maryland where he settled with his family. When he unfortunately passed, he worked as the Senior Director of Biologics Process Sciences with Thermo Fisher Scientific where he became a respected and well-known member of his team.

Min was a loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend. He was a man to put his family first and foremost. Min had always loved to travel; whether it be to other countries, cruises, mountains, and beaches, Min treasured the time he could spend relaxing with friends and family. Every year during the summer, it became a ritual to travel somewhere new. Now, albeit ahead of schedule, Min embarks on a new trip to Heaven, where he will reunite with his deceased mother and father.

The family will receive friends and family for viewing from 10am to 11am on Friday, June 6th, 2025 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will begin at 11am. Those able, are welcome to join in procession to Min’s place of cremation following the funeral service.
