Mindy Crawford Gemberling, 46, passed away on June 27,2024 after a long battle with brain cancer surrounded by her family, friends, devoted caregivers and her dog Harvey.
Mindy was born on February 17,1978 in Lewisburg, Pa. She was the daughter of Debra (Ron) Lloyd and Robert (Tina) Crawford. She married Ty Gemberling whom she often referred to as the love of her life and her rock, on December 17, 2008.
Mindy graduated from Milton High School in 1996. Art and writing were her passions and always a major part of her life. In her senior yearbook she was voted as "most likely to open an art studio". Coastal Carolina University was the first stop for her art career after searching for a school that would provide a partial art scholarship and a nearby beach you may have heard of named Myrtle Beach. After a couple of successful years, she returned home to study Dental Hygiene at Penn College, graduating in 2004.
A cancer diagnosis in 2006 ended her dental hygiene career. Cancer would not define her life, however. She returned to her artistic roots and was an apprentice for a potter in Milton for two years. An operation to remove her tumors caused her to lose some use of her right side. Not to be dissuaded, she began making pottery with her left hand and opened her business known as "Left Hand Pottery". Her Pottery is enjoyed by people throughout the country.
She was an extraordinary person, wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Mindy's family brought her the most joy in life. She loved to watch her children participate in anything they chose and was their biggest cheerleader. Mindy also loved spending time at her "forever home" with her family.
Mindy is survived by her husband Ty; daughter Harper; son Hayden Waltman and his partner Megan; her granddaughter Alison; a brother Robert and wife (Megan) Crawford; one Uncle Gary (Lori) Kline; Mother-in-law Linda; Sister-in-law Lauren; five stepsisters; four nephews, four nieces and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; father-in-law Gerald; and Aunt Jude.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held later.
Remember Me
The constant hum of rain sounds like time slowly slipping out of my hands.
The end is so near, and the past is all I comprehend.
Tomorrows turn into yesterdays and hopes are left in their paths. Will you ever see me again?
Memories will keep me eternal.
Your dreams will keep me alive.
I will live in your heart through time and distance. There I will survive.
I love you.
Mindy
