Minerva Osborne Obituary

Minerva J. (Taylor) Osborne, age 92 of Kingston, passed away peacefully at her home on January 20, 2016 with her family at her side. She was born on December 27, 1923 in Haverhill, MA the daughter of the late John A. and M. Dorothy (Spencer) Taylor. She was raised and educated in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School. As a younger woman, Minerva had worked as a professional nurse maid in Washington, D.C. during WWII. Following the war, she returned home and married her husband, Roland. They moved to West Newbury, MA where they started their family. The family moved to Kingston, NH in 1954. Minerva had worked for Keezar Manufacturing in Plaistow as a stitcher for many years. Minerva was an avid cribbage player who also enjoyed flowers, gardening, sewing, reading, volunteer work, cooking, fishing, puzzles and spending time at the family camp in Center Ossipe, NH. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Over the years, she had made hundreds of quilts for babies with special needs. She was very active with the Order of The Eastern Star, Granite State Grange 149, and The Kingston V.F.W. Post 1088 Ladies Auxiliary and especially with the Newton Junction Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth E. Hale and husband, Richard J. of Sun City, AZ. Her son, Roger V. Osborne and wife, Evelyn of Plaistow, NH. Her brother, William Taylor and wife, Lorna of Windsor, CA. Her sister, Helen Parker of Davenport, FL. Her daughter-in-law, Darlene Osborne of Santa Ana, CA. Six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive her. She was predeceased by her husband, Roland V. Osborne in 1992, her son, Ralph S. Osborne, her brother, John Taylor and her sister, Faye Randall. There are no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11 AM at the Newton Junction Baptist Church, 18 West Main Street in Newton Junction, NH. Burial will take place in the spring in Linwood Cemetery in Haverhill, MA at the convenience of the family. In-lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Newton Junction Baptist Church, PO Box 206, Newton Junction, NH 03859.
