Mrs. Minnie Irene Williams, age 83, of Unionville, TN, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Williamson County, TN and was a daughter of the late Joe Will Hazelwood, Sr. and Minnie Alta Crutcher Hazelwood. Irene was a member of Ash Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker and was a co-owner and operator of Williams Grocery in Bethesda Community for many years. In addition to her parents, Rena was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Hazelwood, Lillian Hazelwood, Faye King, Annie Lee Neal, and brothers, J. W. Hazelwood, Jr., Donald Hazelwood, Hugh Edward “Coon” Hazelwood, Bill Hazelwood, Malcolm Hazelwood.
Irene enjoyed watching Kentucky basketball. Her favorite television shows were Wheel of Fortune and the Price is Right. Her passion was going to the casinos!
Mrs. Williams is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Morris E. Williams of Unionville, TN; children, Debbie (Ray) Johnson of Franklin, TN, Lisa (Jeff) Wilson of Shelbyville, TN, Troy Williams of Chapel Hill, TN; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 9 AM until 11 AM at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM on Friday, November 3, 2023 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Nolensville Cemetery in Nolensville, TN.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
