Miracle Alexandra Mallory, 49, of Marshalltown, formerly of Quincy, passed away Friday, December 12, 2025, at her home in Marshalltown, IA.
Miracle was born May 17, 1976, in Quincy, IL to Kent and Carolyn (Johnson) Mallory.
Survivors include her two sisters, Sonya Mallory and Annice Mallory, both of Quincy; her brother, Kent Paul Mallory, of Quincy; her step-mother who raised her, Patricia Foderado, and her children, Nicholas Marshall of Colorado, Angelina Marshall of Utah, and Christina Middendorf (Patrick) of Quincy; her uncle Alvin Johnson; her aunt Shirley Palmer (Duane Sr.); her nieces and nephews, Chelsea Shoop-Mallory, Brailyn Hunolt-Mallory, Athena Crook (Jamie), Aura Arnold, Rayne Arnold, Kylee Wilson, Christopher Marshall; and her great niece and nephew, Piper Crook, Miles Crook, and Chase Marshall.
Miracle was preceded in death by her parents and her grandmothers, Verneeda Mallory and Louise Johnson.
A proud graduate of Quincy High School in 1994, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Illinois State University in 2000. Her thirst for knowledge and desire to make a difference led her to obtain a Master of Science in Education from Quincy University in 2006, and she didn't stop there. In 2019, Miracle furthered her expertise with a second master's degree in Education Counseling.
Professionally, Miracle's journey was as varied as it was impactful. She served as a behavioral healthcare technician at Recovery Resources and an academic talent search advisor for John Wood Community College. She later became a College and Career Readiness Counselor at Marshalltown High School and ultimately found her calling as a Professional School Counselor at the same institution. Miracle's approach to counseling was rooted in her innate ability to connect with people. She was a beacon of support, offering guidance with honesty and empathy, and she was always ready to challenge others to reach their full potential.
Miracle's entrepreneurial spirit shone through in her side business, Miracle's Candlelit Co., where she crafted and sold candles, hand sanitizers, and sugar scrubs. She had dreams of investing in rental homes, with the goal of retiring early to savor the life she was thoughtfully crafting. Her steadfast faith was the cornerstone of her existence, and she embodied the very essence of prayer, providing comfort, strength, and hope to those around her. Miracle's spiritual journey was nurtured at The Crossing church in Quincy and continued at New Hope Christian Church in Marshalltown, alongside her participation in the Mosaic Church Bible Study Group.
Her love for life was evident in her hobbies, which included spending time with her pets, Peaches, Breezy, and Wrigley, cheering for the Chicago Cubs, baking holiday treats, and advocating for a holistic diet. She will be forever remembered for her beautiful smile, her bubbly personality, and her exceptional ability to bring laughter and joy to everyone around her. Miracle will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
