George Richard Mallory, 89, Rogersville, passed away on Saturday morning, February 7, 2026, with family by his side, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and a life well lived.
He was born September 26, 1936, in Wright County, Missouri, to George Calvin Mallory and Trissie (Calhoun) Mallory.
George was known as a hard worker from a young age. At just twelve years old, he began working to help support his family. He graduated from Seymour High School in 1955 and went on to work at Boeing in Kansas, where he helped put wings on B-52 aircraft. He later moved to
Springfield, Missouri, where he worked as a supervisor at Royal Typewriter and then at General Electric, where he retired after many years of dedicated service.
George loved working with his hands and spent many hours woodworking in his back shop when he lived in Springfield. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, though he had no love for snakes. He had a deep affection for his tractors and could spend hours talking about them with anyone who would listen. He also had a teasing sense of humor that those close to him knew and loved.
Family was important to him. He and Faye enjoyed traveling, and took their family on two-week vacations each year, exploring much of the United States. After becoming empty nesters, they continued to travel, including a memorable cruise.
In 1984, he moved his family to
Rogersville, Missouri, where he helped build their home. He personally sanded and stained the wood trim and cabinet doors; a reflection of the care and pride he took in everything he owned.
He was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge, joining the Grand Lodge of Missouri AF&AM on May 26, 1969, and giving over 56 years of service. He began his membership at Solomon Lodge #271 and later transferred to Henderson Lodge #477 in 1974. He was a 32° Scottish Rite Mason and was honored with his 50-year Masonic pin in 2019. George was a long-time member of Glendale Baptist Church in Springfield.
He appreciated what it took to build a life and a home. He was meticulous, dependable, and steady-a man who provided for his family and left behind a legacy of strength and dedication. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife Faye. George married the love of his life, Alice Faye Price, on February 23, 1974, in Seymour, Missouri. He and Faye were just weeks away from celebrating their 52nd wedding anniversary. Together they built a home filled with love, memories, and many adventures.
He is survived by his three children: Rick Mallory and wife Kim, Cindy Mallory, and Barbara Warner and husband Richard. His youngest daughter, Carol Mitten, preceded him in death.
He was a proud grandfather to Adam Mallory, Andrew Bell, Nathan Cisneros, Miranda McPherson, Liam Scott, Kaleigh Bashammakh, Logan Scott, Emily Scott, Mallorie Schwenke, and Michael Baldus. His grandson, Josh Bell, preceded him in death.
George was also blessed with twelve great-grandchildren and one more on the way.
He is survived by his sister, Shirley Young, along with two nieces and three nephews. One nephew preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Geneva Morrow, and his infant twin brother and sister.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2026, with funeral and Masonic services following 1:00 p.m., at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home in Rogersville. Burial will follow at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens, Springfield
