Miriam Dolores Diener Brown, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024, at the age of 90 in
Lemoore, California. Dolores, or "D", as she was affectionately known, was a woman of faith, family, and creativity, whose remarkable life left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Born January 3, 1934, in Glendale, California, Dolores was raised on a farm in Five Points, California, where she cultivated a lifelong love for country life. She graduated from San Joaquin Memorial High School and earned her degree from Fresno State College. Early on, Dolores worked as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher, inspiring young minds before dedicating herself to raising her five children.
Dolores' Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a dedicated member of St. Peter's Catholic Church; a longtime volunteer and board member of Mary Immaculate Queen (MIQ) School; and led the high school Newman Club group for more than 30 years. She was also deeply involved in the MIQ Mother's Club and chaired the MIQ Fall Festival. Her service extended to the broader community as a member and president of the Kings Guild for Valley Children's Hospital.
A true artist, Dolores painted for more than 40 years, using her creativity to express her deep appreciation for life and beauty. She also had a passion for writing, helping her mother author three family history books and completing her own memoir, Pomegranates to Pistachios, in 2012. An avid traveler, she explored more than 30 countries and 22 states, always with family by her side. Her travels included the Vatican, Israel, Egypt, China, Kenya, Indonesia, Mexico, Germany and Peru.
Dolores cherished her family above all else. She is survived by her sister, Ann Wilson; her five children: Diane (Gary) Loustale, Susan Brown, Neil Brown, Steven (Linda) Brown, and Chris (Janet) Brown. Her legacy of love continues through her 14 grandchildren: Eric (Marissa), Kevin, Emily, Tyler (Kristen), Leslie, Nicholas (Danika), Melissa, Amy, Lisette (Evan), Maureen (Micah), Laine (Jake), Hans, Anneka, and Luke (Michaela); and eight great-grandchildren: Eli, Oliver, Ivy, Anderson, Kirk, Christine, Clay, and Nora. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Alice Diener, and her siblings, Marie, Mary Lou, Paul, Ed, and Alice. Dolores' memory will be forever cherished by all who knew her.
A Mass and celebration of Dolores' life will be held on January 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lemoore. Dolores requested that this occasion be a joyful gathering, encouraging attendees to wear colorful attire. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to MIQ School
in Lemoore.
