oldest of 7 children to Leon Close and Bertha Holly. Robert passed away
on May 23, 2024 in Riverdale, Ca. surrounded by family at the age of 79.
Robert married Margaret Correia, the love of his life in1968 and celebrated
55 years of marriage in August. Robert was a US Army Veteran. Roberts
hobbies were fishing, hunting and being UNCLE to many nieces and
nephews. Robert also loved watching his nieces and nephews play and
coach sports. All players knew him as UNCLE. Although Robert had no
children of his own, he played the father figure to many.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Leon and Bertha
Close, brothers Tim Close and Jackie Close (Evelina). He is survived by
his wife Margaret Close.
He is also survived by his sisters Francis Blaze of Modesto, Helen
Wells (John) of Idaho, Miareen Dias of Riverdale, Nancy Prichard of Idaho,
his sister-in-laws Chris Lawrence (Ed), Sally Ockey (Jeff), and Lisa Davis
(Mathew) along with many Nieces and Nephews.
Viewing will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Phipps-Dale Funeral
Chapel (Lemoore) 9:30am-10:30am and graveside at Calvary Cemetery
(Hanford) 11am.
