Miriam J. (Eberhardt) Orewiler, 100, formerly of Abbottstown and a recent resident of SpiriTrust Lutheran Village in Gettysburg, departed this life, October 31, 2025 to enter her eternal home in Heaven.

Born in Mansfield, Ohio, on Tuesday, January 20, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Edmund J. and Amber B. (Leach) Eberhardt. Miriam was the devoted wife of the late Rev. Orrin O. Orewiler, Sr., with whom she shared 62 years of marriage before his passing on March 23, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her five brothers and sisters.

Miriam graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1943. She and her husband moved to Hanover, Pennsylvania, on November 22, 1963, where Miriam served with her husband, Rev. Orrin Orewiler, Sr., who pastored Hanover Foursquare Church and she remained a faithful member throughout her life. She was employed with J.C. Penney for many years before her retirement, later working part-time at Hanover Pen Corporation.

A loving mother and grandmother, Miriam, found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and watching the little ones grow. She loved tending to her flowers, especially her roses that surrounded her home, and enjoyed traveling and sharing adventures with her friends.

She is survived by her six children: Edmund (Becky) Orewiler, Linda Duck, Carol (Ed) Groft, Orrin (Kathy) Orewiler, Jr., Kevin (Cindy) Orewiler, and Kirby (Sheri) Orewiler. She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren, all of whom were a source of great pride and joy.

A funeral service to Celebrate the life of Miriam will be held at 11 am, Thursday, November. 6, 2025 at Emerge (Hanover Foursquare), 518 Wilson Ave., Hanover with the Rev. Kevin D. Orewiler officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 6 to 8 pm at the church and then again on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 10 am until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow beside her husband in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Benevolence Fund of SpiriTrust Lutheran Village, 1075 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325, or to a charity of one's choice.
