Misty Vittatoe Summers

Misty Vittatoe Summers, 53, of Maryville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, in Knoxville, Tennessee surrounded by her loving family.
Misty was the beloved daughter of Sherry Justice, who preceded her in death, and Steve Vittatoe of Maryville. Misty's family was the center of her world, and she leaves behind three cherished children: Katelyn Barrett and her husband Matt Barrett, Daniel Summers and his partner Abby Redwine, and Haley Summers. Misty also shared a close bond with her siblings Jeff Vittatoe and his wife Angie Vittatoe, and Amber Edmondson. Her love extended to her nieces and nephews Danielle (Ben), Tanner (Savannah), Emily (Ethan), and Andy.
A woman of deep faith, Misty was a devoted member of Axley's Chapel United Methodist Church. Her commitment to service was evident in every aspect of her life. She had a generous spirit and an unwavering dedication to helping others. One of her greatest joys came from supporting Operation Christmas Child. Each year, she poured her heart into preparing shoeboxes filled with gifts for children around the world.
In lieu of flowers and as a testament to Misty's selfless spirit of giving, the family requests that monetary or supply donations be made to Operation Christmas Child c/o Axley's Chapel United Methodist Church.
Misty's loved ones will receive friends at 11:00 AM Saturday November 1, 2025 at Axley's Chapel United Methodist Church 27930 Axley Chapel Road Greenback, Tennessee. A Celebration of Life and lunch to honor her loving legacy provided by her church family will follow.
