Mitchell Lee Jeffries, fondly known as Mitch, left this world on January 12, 2026, at the age of 58. Born in McRae on March 10, 1967, he spent his life in the heart of Georgia, where he made lasting memories and friendships.
Mitch dedicated a significant part of his career to Brown-Williamson of Macon, working diligently in Fabrication and Maintenance. His commitment to his profession was reflected not only in his work ethic but also in the relationships he forged with colleagues and friends throughout the years.
With an easy-going and kind personality, Mitch was often seen as a source of cheer for those around him. He was a devoted member of the McRae Church of God, where his faith and community involvement were paramount in his life.
Mitch is survived by his beloved wife, Terri Jeffries of Helena; his son, Drew Jeffries, along with his partner Rebecca Baker, of McRae; and his stepdaughter, Jana (Shawn) Murray of Alamo. He was a proud grandfather to Hayden Kinnett, Reagan Jeffries, Tayte Jeffries, Brayden Murray, and Kynslee Murray, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Denise (Steve) Pollard of Alamo, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember him fondly.
He is preceded in death by a son, Austin Jeffries, and by his parents, Roy Thomas Jeffries and Marlene Davis Jeffries, whose legacy continues through the love and kindness Mitch shared throughout his life.
Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate Mitch's life and honor his memory at a visitation Wednesday, January 14, from 6:00-8:00P.M., and for the funeral service Thursday, January 15, at 2:00P.M., in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae. Burial will follow at Harrelson Family Cemetery.
Mitch will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his loving spirit will remain in the hearts of those he has touched.
