Mitchell Dean Larson

Mitchell Dean Larson, 69, of Glyndon, MN, passed away Monday, October 6, 2025, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Mitchell Dean Larson was born October 16, 1955, in Moorhead, MN, to Milton and Anice (Stumbo) Larson. He was raised on a farm near Felton, MN. He attended school at Glyndon-Felton, MN. In 1973 he married Delores Askelson and they had two daughters. Mitchell later married Terri McDonald and they had a son & daughter. In 1995 he met the love of his life, Nancy Johnson, and her three children with whom he spent the rest of his life. They married August 15, 2023, in South Dakota. He lived in the Glyndon area until the time of his death.

Mitchell drove Semi for many years. He worked for American Crystal Sugar Company for 18 years and for the past 13 years he worked for Fuchs Sanitation in Glyndon, MN.

Mitchell was a hard worker all his life. He enjoyed being with family and friends. He took pride in his garden and lawn. He liked going to auctions. In early years he liked to race cars. He is a Dodge man through and through and loved his fast cars.

Mitchell is survived by his wife, Nancy (Johnson) Larson, Glyndon, MN; three daughters, Lori (Jamie) burnside, Hawley, MN, Tina (Scott) Visser, Gary, MN, Tara (Dougie) Larson, Detroit Lakes, MN; one son, Brandon (Krystal) Larson, Detroit Lakes, MN; three step-sons, Casey Johnson, Detroit Lakes, MN, Kyle (Crystal) Johnson, Detroit Lakes, MN, Devin Johnson, Moorhead, MN; 17 grandchildren, Megan (Ben) Burnside, Jesse Burnside, Corben Visser, Chloe Visser, Jaida Larson, Ivan Larson, Elijah Borah, Aryanna Larson, Noah Larson Koby, Raegan Collins, Deegan Collins, Christopher Johnson, Gabe Vareberg, Nikolai Johnson, Mathias Johnson, Trinity Johnson, Isabell Johnson; four sisters, Deborah (Terry) Blake, Felton, MN, Laura Meyer, Somerset, WI, Claudia Schroeder, Fargo, ND, Sally (Mark) Annis, Glyndon, MN; one brother, Ronald (Ruth) Larson, Felton, MN; one sister-in-law, Pat Larson, Gary, MN.

Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Anice Larson; one brother, Ray Larson; brother-in-law, Jerry Meyer and brother-in-law, Don Schroeder. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ICU staff of Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND, for their wonderful, loving care of Mitchell.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 4:00 PM, with visitation from 3:00 to 4:00 PM, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Felton, MN.
