Mitchell Powell Obituary
Mitchell was born July 26, 1938, in Guernsey, AR to Harvey and Sally Vesta Powell.
Mitchell loved to hunt, fish, and take care of his farm and he was a member of the Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Michael Powell, and three sisters Dora Gillispe, Marlene Amos, and Helen Smith.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years Toni Powell of Hope; his son Billy and wife Sarah Powell of Hope; his daughter Jennifer and husband Richard Howard of Hope; three grandchildren Ty Massey (Jennie) of Hope, Colby Howard (Ashley) Fruitvale, TX, Trevor Howard (Mara) of Debary, FL; two grandchildren Hazel and Colton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests all condolences or food delivery go to Billy Powell or Jennifer Howard.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00pm Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home of Hope.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 2:00pm in the Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jake Vandenburg officiating. Burial will follow at Sewell Cemetery, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home.
