Mitchell Joseph Vidauri, age 66, of Hamilton City, California passed away peacefully on October 2nd, 2025, in his home surrounded by his closest loved ones, listening to his favorite tunes. He was born on October 1st, 1959. He was a beloved husband of 41 years, Son, Father, Grandfather, Great -Grandfather, the best Uncle, and Friend anyone could ask for.
Mitchell is survived by his loving Wife, Lorna Rae Vidauri; and his mother, Patsy Tiznado. He was a caring Brother to Kathy Marie Vidauri, Kelly Rae Nelson, and Michael Kevin Vidauri. He will be deeply missed by his Son, Thomas Lawrence Franks; his Grandson Christian Leaird; and his Great-Grandson Thomas Leaird. He is also survived by his cherished Nephews; Jeramiah Joseph Aradoz, Michael Chase Vidauri, and Kyle Joseph Vidauri (his Godson), along with his Nieces; Jesselle Nicole Cook, Kristi Rae Holloway, and Lindsey Nichole Vidauri. Preceded in death by his father Ralph Vidauri
He took his nieces and nephews on great adventures, like swimming on the Sacramento River and stony creek. He also went fishing and took them on many four-wheeler rides through the back roads and trails of Hamilton City, telling them stories about his childhood. One year, He even dressed up as Santa Claus, although, his nieces and nephews knew that it was him under the red suit; another give away was his own sneakers!
Mitchell was known as Uncle Joe and adored by his Great-Nieces; Kaylie Elizabeth Aradoz, Layla Rae Holloway, Lillian R. Cook, Liyah Janae Holloway, Vivienne E. Cook, as well as his Great-Nephews; Shane M. Cook, Corey Joseph Holloway, Eli Patrick Aradoz, and Malakai Zai Vidauri. His playful, humorous spirit and warm-hearted character created lasting memories and bonds that will be cherished forever by so many people. Uncle Joe wouldn't miss a moment to spend with the kids! Even when he had the chance to fly down South just to drive back with his niece Kristi and her children or just from down the street here in Hamilton City. Uncle Joe would give the best hugs, love, advice and encouragement to never give up and he was the greatest listener. That man wouldn't miss an opportunity for fun with them either, he was always laughing.
Throughout his life, Mitchell had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing in the deep blue sea and camping, often taking memorable road trips with Lorna, with their favorite adventure being a journey across the lower 48 states.
In addition to his passion for nature, Mitchell dedicated much of his time to serving his community. He was a Volunteer Fire-Fighter, worked for the Parks and Recreation Department in Hamilton City, and contributed to the City Sewer company. He was committed to helping others and left a lasting impact on those around him. He was also known for his kindness and generosity, always finding ways to spread his love of giving, such as bringing honey, fruit or even a lottery ticket to put a little smile on someone.
Mitchell will be remembered for his generous spirit, love for adventure, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him most. Keep his spirt alive when you hear a tune on the radio of a classic 70's rock song or even his final song American Pie. Throw on a Tie-Die shirt and Rock on; We love you Uncle Joe!
