Mitchell Glen Wilson, age 65, of Cambria, IL, passed away unexpectedly on September 20, 2025, at Herrin Hospital.

Raised in West Frankfort, Mitch built a life centered on hard work, family, and the simple joys he loved most. For many years, he owned and operated a wood shop where he and his late wife, Brenda, created countless beautiful pieces of craftsmanship that are still treasured today. He later opened Wilson's Craft and Clutter, a craft store where visitors not only enjoyed the variety of unique items but also came to share a laugh or story with Mitch. His warm presence made everyone feel welcome, leaving lasting memories throughout the community.

After closing the store, Mitch began a new chapter working as a guard at General Dynamics, where he spent the past six years. He took great pride in his work and valued the friendships he formed there, especially with his buddies John, Buddy, and many others who became like family.

Mitch also found peace and joy in the outdoors. Whether hunting or fishing alongside his dear friend Bruce, nature was where he felt most at home. In recent years, he cherished the companionship of his lady friend, Roxanna, with whom he shared laughter, love, and many meaningful moments.

Family always held a special place in Mitch's heart. He especially enjoyed supporting his great-nephew and great-niece at their volleyball and baseball games, never missing a chance to cheer them on with pride.

Mitch will be remembered for his warmth, his down-to-earth spirit, and the way he lived life fully through simple pleasures. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, coworkers, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his two sisters, Kim (Rodney) Meadows and Dana Davis; three nieces, Brook (Jason) Chavez, Brittany (Kellis) Williams, and Hailee Davis; and his great-nieces and nephews, Mac, Hudson, Cayden, Stevey, Levi, Korbin, and Kolbey. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda; his parents, Harlan and Leona Wilson; his brother-in-law, Steve Davis; and his great-nephew, Bradley Williams.

Services will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM proceeded by the funeral at 2:00 with Brother Mike Cash officiating, located at the Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort, Illinois. Interment will be in the East Fork Cemetery. .

The family invites all who knew Mitch to come share stories, memories, and celebrate a life well lived.
