Mittie Lee Pitts, age 92, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away Wednesday evening, August 7, 2024, at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pitts will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 3:00 PM at First Church of the Nazarene in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Scott Messer officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Bascom, FL, with Stevie Adams, Ronnie Adams, Charles Adams, Chris Phillips, Bruce Phillips, and Jonah Grand serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the church.
Mrs. Pitts was born in Bascom, FL on May 12, 1932, to Charlie Phillips and Bertha Kirkland Phillips. She loved working in her yards, not just her flower beds but mowing her yards as well. Mrs. Pitts loved her family, and especially her fur baby, Toby; however, she will always be best remembered as a loving childcare provider for many children in Seminole County. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Donalsonville.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Durall Pitts of Donalsonville, GA; her daughter-in-law, Donna Pitts of Iron City, GA; her grandchildren, Bryce Pitts and wife Brittany of Donalsonville, GA, Scotty Pitts, Jr. and wife Hayley of Colquitt, GA, Pamela Pitts of Iron City, GA, and Blake Pitts and wife Crystal of Blakely, GA; her great grandchildren, Gade Pitts, Brycen Pitts, Wade Pitts, Brynlee Pitts, Macey Pitts, Emmett Pitts, Ivory Williams, Jonah Grand, and Jolie Grand; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Mrs. Pitts was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Bertha Kirkland Phillips; her husband, Woodie Pitts; her siblings, Vera Kirkland, Oda Lee Phillips, Johnny Hugh Phillips, C.B. Phillips, Elsie Adams, R.V. Phillips, and Gene Phillips; as well as two sons, Greg Pitts and Scotty Pitts.
