Mittie Lou Walls

Mrs. Mittie Wiles Walls, age 91, of Elkin, passed away Tuesday, February 4th, 2025, at Hugh Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elkin. She was born October 20th, 1933, in Surry County to Roscoe “Sap” and Ila Hanes Wiles. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents Mittie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Sonny” Walls, Jr.; brother, John Darrell Wiles, sister, Carlene Wall, son-in-law, Rick Freeman; grandchildren; Kelly Denise Freeman, Mark Spillman, and Matthew Spillman.

Survivors include her son, Tommy “Tad” Walls and wife Tina; daughters; Kathy Spillman and husband Dana, Joyce Ann Freeman; grandchildren, Dara Waddell and husband John, Andrea Wall and husband Eric, great grandchildren; Brittany Anderson and husband Jacob, Peyton Wall, Kiersten Wall, Bryson Wall, Anna Waddell, great-great grandchildren; Brystol Anderson and Boone Anderson, special cousin, Steve Smith.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 15th, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 593 Pleasant Hill Drive, Elkin, NC 28621 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
