Modine Smith Long a native of Liberty, KY and longtime resident of Louisville was born in Windsor, KY August 3rd, 1924 passed away June 26th, 2025 at Signature at Jefferson Place.
She attended Liberty High School 1941 and graduated Berea College 1948 with a Psychology degree and was a social worker for the State of Kentucky.
She was a member of Brush Creek Christian Church.
Modine was preceded in death by her parents, James H. and Lucinda (Taylor) Smith and four sisters, Neva Margaret, Vesta King, Liberty, KY Josphine Hansford, Palatka FL, and Vertie Bell, Somerset, KY. Four brothers, Grady, Rantoul, IL, Virgil, Liberty, KY, Ray, Jacksonville, NC and Wilbur, Temple, TX. She was survived by several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at Brush Creek Cemetery 11:00 A.M. on Monday July 7th, 2025. Rev. Jeff Bell and Rev. Brad King officiating. Burial will be in the Brush Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Brush Creek Cemetery P.O. Box 87 Liberty, KY.
