We honor the sacrifice of 1LT Mohsin Naqvi on Memorial Day 2023. We thank his family for supporting his service to our country.
August 27, 2013
To all who knew and loved Mohsin I can say he made a huge impact on my life while he was with us for the short time. I am thankful for the time I did have with him but know it would be selfish of me not to understand that the whole time he was with me he was just own loan from God. I was the one blessed enough to have had the chance to share part of my life with him. We all miss him very much and think of him often and still bring up memories when he was around and how his humor was so perfect and genuine. There are those little things that you get to hold onto as memories and tuck them away safe in your heart. And out of nowhere you feel them rising up to the forefront of your mind. Those are the best.
To the Naqvi Family, you raised an outstanding man of great valor and he was loved by so many and his nature was so genuine to protect what he felt was his and within his rights to protect. I don't know if I have met a more genuine heart since. We miss and Love you Mo....and cant wait for your greetings and smiles that await all of us upon our call home.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Naqvi Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

I served with LT Naqvi on the days just before he fell. We slept a few feet from one another, and ate almost every meal together. We went on missions together. You did very well my friend. God keep you always and his peace be upon to your family. I will not forget you.

Mohsin wow I really miss you I still hear your laugh and all the phone calls asking me for advice. My Birthday was last week and you would be the first to call and I still expect to get that call. It still doesn't seem real you were so young. You will always be a part of my family and we will always love and miss you.

I ran the Veterans Day 10K Run here, in Chicago on November 8th, 2009. Each runner is assigned a fallen veteran, which is imprinted on the back of our runners bib number that we wear throughout the race. I had the honor of wearing 1st Lt. Mohsin Naqvi next to my heart, as I ran. I looked up this brave soldier after the race. If anyone knows how to get in touch with the family, I'd like to send them this race bib. At the start of the race this morning, I did not know of Mohsin or of his sacrifice.
He will not be forgotten!

Every single day, every time I pray
I'll be missing you
Thinking of the day, when you went away
What a life to take, what a bond to break
I'll be missing you
Somebody tell me why
On that morning
When this life is over
I know
Ill see your face
Every day that passes
is a day that I get closer
to seeing you again.
We miss you... and we wont stop

To the family and parents of Mohsin I want you to know that you are not alone in the grief you are feeling. I too know what you are going through and what you will go through in the coming weeks and months ahead. You will have many questions as to why? You will have many things to get ready or go through and that should be done in time. Sometimes it just can’t be faced and that’s ok, for you will know when the time is right for you. There is no right or wrong way to grieve it’s an individual journey that unfortunately we now have to take. I ask that God give the comfort, strength and courage that you are going to need. When and if the time is right for you please contact me. You can cry, vent, or just talk as only another person who has been where you are can really know what you are going through. May God continue to be with you and heal you

To Mrs. Naqvi & family, no words can ever be spoken for our
heartfelt gratitude for the sacrifice of your son's life upon the alter of freedom. Your loss is America's loss.
May your Memories with him and of him help to comfort you along with God's care. There just is no word's to take away the loss you feel, for that I am sorry...
May God comfort you and your family in this time of deep sorrow, and may he heal your pain in knowing that your son's life was not in vain.
Mohsin will forever be remembered as an American Military Hero who gave his all,
all lived the creed of "Service before Self".
"If I ever go to war my Friends, We’ll never be apart, Thought we may not meet again, I’ll hold you in my heart. Remember all the time we had, Don’t let your memories cease, Your friend is a Soldier now Dear Friend, And I’ll die to bring you peace.
And when I go to Heaven, And see that pearly gate, I’ll gladly decline entrance, Then stand my post and wait. I’m sorry Heavenly Father I can’t come in, sort of in a bind, You see I’m still a Soldier Sir, So I can’t leave anyone behind". "Climb to Glory"

Prayer for Peace
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen

To the Naqvi family,
I know there are no words to say, except how sorry I am for your loss. May you hold Mohsins' memory in your heart and please remember he shall never be forgotten.
...For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed.
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

Moshin's family,
I knew Moshin at RIT where I completed one year of ROTC with him. As a freshman in 2004 through 2005 he was always one of the upper classman I looked up to. I left RIT to enlist and then come to West Point. I tried staying in touch with most of the guys from the Tiger battalion and was very sad to find out about his passing when leaving Moshin a message on Facebook last week. I am very honored and blessed to have known Moshin. I can only offer my sincerest apologies for your loss, but also would like to say God bless him for what he was doing. I can only hope that in my service I can give back for all those who have passed, including Moshin. I will always remember him as a friend and fellow soldier.
With deepest regards,
