Moises Cano Leon, a devoted father, grandfather, and esteemed member of the community, passed away on November 14, 2025, in Patagonia, Arizona, at the age of 78. Born on March 5, 1947, in Cananea, Sonora, Mexico, Moises carried a deep sense of pride in his heritage throughout his life.

With a remarkable career that spanned over 25 years, Moises dedicated himself to I-J Bar Ranch, where he was not just an employee but a crucial part of the family. His work ethic was a testament to his character; he was known as a very hard worker who committed himself wholeheartedly to everything he did. Beyond his professional life, Moises was a loving father, taking great pride in his children, Yesica Cano and Elisa Cano, and his grandchildren: Luisana Dominguez, Valeria Majalca, Sophia Majalca, Maria Fernanda Rivera, and Santiago Rivera. His family was undoubtedly one of his proudest accomplishments.

Moises is survived by his life partner, Patricia Costich, who brought joy and companionship into his later years. He is also leaves behind his cherished siblings: Rafael Cano, Margarita Cano, Rosa Cano, and Evangelina Ashby, as well as many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Jesus Tarazon.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life and legacy at a memorial service on December 5, 2025, at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Nogales, AZ, starting at 12:00 PM, with a Rosary service at 1:00 PM. The family looks forward to gathering together to honor the memory of a truly remarkable man who touched the lives of so many.

Moises was a true vaquero, embodying the spirit and dedication of ranch life. Over the years, he worked on many local ranches, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him. Moises was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, deeply cherished by his family and community. His remarkable skills on the ranch were matched only by his passion for horsemanship, which held a special place in his heart.

He will be lovingly remembered whenever good music plays, red chile is shared, and the joy of dancing fills the air. Moises will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

**********
